Moong dal puttu is a healthy and delicious snack or breakfast dish! Moong dal is protein rich dal, it is light and easy to digest. It is high in Fiber and Low in fat thus reducing the colestrol. It is extremely good for diet conscious individuals. 

Preparation time – 10 minutes

Cooking time – 20 minutes

Serves –3

Moong dal – 1 cup
Grated coconut – 1/4 cup
Jaggery – 1/2 cup

Soak the moong dal for 2 to 3 hours. Drain the water and grind it into a paste in the mixer. Once they are done, keep them in the idly plate and steam cook them for about 10 minutes. Allow it to cool and whip them in the mixer like a puttu. Serve with coconut and jaggery. Tastes so authentic and very much like dry form of the moon dal payasam. Enjoy this healthy dish as a snack, breakfast or for dinner.
