Sooji ka halwa is a simple and easy to make halwa, and a beginners halwa recipe!

Preparation time – 10 mins

Cooking time – 15 mins

Serves – 4

Sooji – 1 cup
Brown sugar – 1/2 cup
Water – 3 cups
Ghee – 1/4 cup
Cashews – 10

In a Kadai, heat some ghee and fry the cashews and set them aside. Now add in the sooji and dry roast for 2 to 3 mins, do not brown them.

Now add in water and stir well, make sure no lumps are formed. Allow it to cook for 5 mins. 

Keep stirring and add in some ghee and stir well, once the water is drained and the sooji starts leaving the sides, add in the sugar and mix well.

Now add the remaining ghee and cook for another 3 mins. Switch off the flame and transfer to a plate and allow it to cool.

Once they set, cut out your favourite shapes and serve!
