Paruppu payasam is an all time favourite and is a simple recipe done for neivedhayam or on festivals. A hearty lunch is complete with a yummy payasam.

Serves – 2
Moong dhal – 1/2 cup
Jaggery – 1/2 cup
Coconut milk – 1/2 cup (thick)
Cashews – 3
Coconut pieces – 2 inch piece
Pressure cook the moong dhal with required quantity of water, for 2 whistles (do not over cook it and make it mushy).
Melt the jaggery with very little water
Now fry the cashews in ghee, remove it and mix it with the payasam. Also add in thinly sliced coconut fried in ghee.
