Idiyappam is a delicacy or a favourite for all, it is a special dish made for guests for dinner or breakfast. This brings even kids in our home into the kitchen in preparing these Indian rice noodles. The very common and simple way of making it sweet is just by sprinkling some sugar. This can also be had with kurma.

Idiyappam Ingredients
Idiyappam flour – 250 gms
Salt

Vellam pagu Ingredients
Vellam – 150 gms
Cardamom – 3 crushed
Coconut – 1/2 cup grated

 
Method

In a mixing bowl take required quantity of flour. Heat some water in a saucepan and mix the flour to make it a dough. Now take the dough in the idiyappam maker and squeeze them onto the idly plates. Steam them for nearly 10 mins.

To make the Vellam pagu, in a sauce pan melt the Vellam with some pods of cardamom in it . Once they boil, filter the Vellam and add in the grated coconut. Pour this Vellam pagu on the idiyappam and enjoy this authentic Indian rice noodles.
