Ridge gourd is a healthy vegetable as they contain few calories and helps weight loss. It is high in Fiber, beta carotene, vitamins and minerals thus helps to build a good immune system. Ridge gourd has anti-inflammatory and antibiotic properties. It also helps to detox liver, blood and tissues.

Ingredients
Ridge gourd – 1
Mustard seeds- 1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/5 tsp
Chilli powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt

 
Method

Peel the skin of the ridge gourd and chop them into bite size pieces. In a Kadai add oil and mustard seeds. Once they splutter add in the chopped ridge gourd saute for a minute. Now add salt, turmeric and chilli powder. Add some water and cover the Kadai and cook for 5 mins until the vegetable becomes soft.

The ridge gourd can be had with rice or as a side dish.
